Adrian’s formal experience with IP (excluding implementation IP) began during the development of proposals for 802.11n.
While employed by Intel, Adrian authored or co-authored about 100 awarded US patents over a period of 10 years, mainly on topics related to 802.11/WiFi. He also sat on an Intel internal patent committee to evaluate the merits of potential patent applications.
Adrian was also a member of the IEEE Standards Association Standards Board for a number of years, including the years when it last updated its patent policy.
Adrian has worked closely with drafting attorneys. Now the boot is on the other foot, and he is working with attorneys in litigation related to patents that claim to read on the IEEE 802.11 standard.
